URPP PHD-project grant success for the IEM!

The IEM is pleased to announce that they have been granted URPP "Evolution in action" funding for a PhD project to investigate the gut microbiome of ancient Egyptians. Gut microbiomes are now known be an important factor in obesity. This project will work alongside the SNSF funded Canopic Jar project and concentrate on comparing the bacterial componants of viscera from canopic jars with modern gut microbiomes in order to better understand the history of our health.
