3D Body Scan Cohort Zurich

3D Body Scan Cohort Zurich

In 2019 we started with the 3D Body Scan Cohort Zurich, in collaboration with the ETH Zurich. In this cohort we assess diet, physical activity, and body perception, and compare these data with anthropometric data collected with a 3D full body scanner as well as with body composition assessed with bioimpedance analysis. We investigate how the human body changes over time, depending on sex, age, diet quality, and level of physical activity. Our data shall contribute to the better understanding of human physiology and to a more subgroup specific approach to overweight prevention.

We assess adults from the general population of Zurich and surroundings once per year. In 2020 we could not make measurements due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but since 2021 we had yearly measurements. Up to date 626 persons participated in this cohort, contributing 1-4 visits.
