Anthropometrics & Historical Epidemiology
We are an interdisciplinary research group (epidemiologists, historians, biostatisticians) using quantitative methods to analyse different modern and historical data sets. We add a historical and evolutionary perspective to modern health issues and data in order to better understand and monitor ongoing developments at the population level. The group has two main areas of research: a) Anthropometry: The analysis of regional/temporal variability in human height, body shape, overweight and size at birth over the last 200 years; b) Historical Epidemiology: The analysis of historical morbidity and mortality data from archives using modern epidemiological methods.
