One Health Microbial Evolution Lab
The One Health Microbial Evolution Lab investigates the evolution, transmission, and drug resistance of mycobacterial pathogens, with a particular focus on leprosy agents (Mycobacterium leprae and M. lepromatosis). Our research integrates genomics, molecular microbiology, and epidemiology across human, animal, and environmental systems to understand pathogen persistence and spillover. The group is jointly affiliated with the Institute of Evolutionary Medicine and the One Health Institute, fostering a strongly interdisciplinary One Health approach.
